Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how StructorX ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use AssessLane, including its web app and its remote MCP server used from AI clients such as ChatGPT and Claude.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name and email address, and the sign-in method you use (Google Sign-In or an email magic link).
  • Organization data: the organizations you belong to, your role, and invitations you send or receive.
  • Training content: assessments, questions, answer choices, and tags that you create, edit, or save, whether in the web app or through an AI client via MCP.
  • Training activity: assignments, due dates, attempts, answers, scores, and completion status, and the completion reports built from them.
  • Usage data: access and error logs, IP addresses (used for rate limiting and security), and product analytics events described in section 4.
  • Billing information: handled by Paddle (see section 3). We receive subscription status, not payment card details.

Only add content you are authorized to use for these purposes.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and secure the service
  • To send invitations, assignment reminders, trial and billing-lifecycle emails, and sign-in links
  • To process subscriptions and billing
  • To provide support and communicate with you
  • To understand where people stop using the product and to improve it

3. Service providers

  • Google Sign-In: authentication.
  • Paddle: payment processing as Merchant of Record. Paddle's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Cloudflare: application hosting, background job queues, and rate limiting.
  • Neon: database hosting.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery.
  • PostHog: product analytics when enabled, described below.

We share only the information these providers need to perform their services and require them to protect it.

4. Product analytics

When product analytics is enabled, we use PostHog to measure how people move from sign-up through connecting an AI client, saving, assigning, and completing assessments, and subscribing. Events contain only event names, timestamps, opaque internal identifiers, and coarse categories such as the channel (web or MCP), the MCP tool name, and whether a call succeeded. We do not include your email address, name, organization name, assessment content, questions, answers, prompts, access tokens, your IP address, or full page URLs in event payloads, and we do not create person profiles. Because events are sent from our servers, PostHog receives our server's IP address, not yours.

5. Use from AI clients (MCP)

When you connect an AI client, you authorize it to act on your AssessLane account with the read or write access you grant. AssessLane applies your organization membership and role to every request and returns only data you could access in the web app. Content the AI client sends to AssessLane is stored as your training content. What an AI client provider does with your conversation, including data AssessLane returns to it, is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect a client at any time from the client or by contacting us.

6. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Training results are retained while your organization uses the service. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and ask how we process it. Contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes through the service or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
